Title: BECAUSE HOLLY IS THE BEST. (No seriously, that's the title)
Pairing: SasuNaru(one sided), SasuNeji
Chapters: One Shot
Summary: It's over and years have passed. The confession finally comes, but his dark gaze was focused elsewhere. This is just me letting out some frustration/venting. Holly is to blame for the theme/quotes used of/in this fic.
Warnings: If you're a NaruSasuNaruSasuWHATEVER fan, you might not want to read this. If you do, well, I can't really stop you. Flaming me will probably only make me hate the pairing more at this point though. I don't want to hate the pairing, so let's just let me vent and move on.
BECAUSE HOLLY IS THE BEST
They were talking about making Naruto Hokage. They were talking about how he couldn’t be trusted, how he would betray the village again. How they hated him.
That was fine. He hated them too.
Years wouldn’t change their minds and he wasn’t trying to. His fate, his life, it was sealed; had been the moment he had placed Itachi’s eyes in his own sockets. He still missed his brother.
“He loves you, you know.”
“What will you do?”
“Hey.” He could sense the other’s chakra, always bright. He hated the light, even now. “You like high places, huh?”
“It gets me away from them.” He says softly, but his dark gaze was actually focused on something in the distance as he stood on top of the hokage tower. His back continues to face that bright and warm chakra.
Footsteps are made. They stop. The silence is tense, but only from one side. He knows what he wants, what he wants to do.
“Hey bastard,” he begins but is cut off.
“You might want to spare yourself.” Turning, dark eyes flicker to blue, gaze devoid of emotion. “Stick with what you’ve always wanted.”
Blinking, brows furrow and the blonde takes a step forward. “What are ya talking about?” he chuckles but it is slightly nervous as he scratches the back of his head. “You’re –“
“I’m not stupid. If you want to keep denying it, fine. I’m okay with that too.” He turned back to the view, black eyes turning crimson as he tried to find what he had been looking at earlier.
Silence continued. After a moment he finally decides to speak up. “Look, I know things happened the way they did and I never thought I’d...” he sighed. “I love Sakura-chan but...I love you Sasuke. Why do you think I fought so hard to get you back?”
Snorting, he turned back, tilting his head. “Because you’re an obsessive idiot. Look, you’re cute in that naive child way, but...” smirking, he turned back to the distance, his crimson gaze sliding over a slender and deadly frame. Long hair. Haunting white eyes that missed nothing. Eyes that were looking back up at him as veins surrounded an angular face. His gaze was also devoid of emotion, but they knew better.
“I don’t like men.”
“I don’t like men either.”
“Because I do. Do I need a reason?”
“No...I suppose not.”
“Stop fighting me, Hyuuga. I won’t stop until I get what I want.”
“Hm. Then you’ll have to work for it. I’m not giving you anything.”
“There’s something else I want.” He turned to the blonde one last time, the smile a bit more genuine. “I’ll never be able to hate you,” he confessed. “But I’ll never be able to love you either. Not the way you want. That’s not we need.” With that, he jumped from his perch, smirking as the figure he had been watching had all but disappeared.
He licked his lips, tomoe spinning lazily. No, he wanted a challenge. A fight. He wanted long silken hair and a body that would put any man’s to shame...and some women too.
And gods did he look good without clothes on. The smirk widened. The chase was on and he was very good at hunting.
Hyuuga Neji, you will be mine.
