Last Update: 28th September
I'ma little behind on this post but oh well. This is a long one guys, since I haven't updated in a friggin month it seems where the hell does the time go?
Fics Started/Uploaded: A Stack of Letters (Rewrite), Amaterasu, 1000 Years, Deadly Envy
Fics Updated: A Stack of Letters (2), Amaterasu (2), But It's Better If You Do (4), ATB Original (8-11), Oath (10), Cursed Lineages (4-5)
Completed: 12 Chapters in all
Fics Completed: Anchor (17), Deadly Envy (One Shot)
Short Term Goals: Finish Arcanus(17), Cursed Lineages (6), finish plotting out Aoshi/Misao request in my head.
Long Term Goals: Complete Arcanus(20), Finish remaining request fics.
IMPORTANT: I am starting school again. That means my fic updates are going to decrease because last term I focused way too much on my writing and not my school work. Nothing suffered, I still got good grades, but I don't want to continue to do this. It becoming a habit would be bad.
Also, instead of waiting until a fic is fully complete to upload it to FF.net I'm going to instead start uploading chapters at a certain point and doing updates whenever I complete a new chapter. I will not do this for fics that I've started writing and I'm unsure if I'm going to continue. Er, in short, I'll know at a certain point whether or not I'll be finishing the fic and will go from there. So far, I've known pretty early when/if I'm not sure if I'll complete a fic.
I've also been neglecting my novel; mostly because I was feeling a little pressured to do my fanfics. I mostly felt as if I was letting people down if I wasn't updating X-fic in a certain amount of time and that's not really a good thing to do. It's not a matter of not wanting to do it, in fact, knowing that folks really like the story is a great motivator, but it's something I need to work on not doing as it can lead to stress.
In addition, I've had folks comment if a story goes a month without an update. That is also rather stressful, as I work on several fics at once and it's simply impossible to update all of them each month(and that's with me neglecting my novel). I'm not that good and I do need to have some semblance of a life.
I don't ask for reviews, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy them and it certainly doesn't mean I don't take words to heart. Everyone does this and so my goal is to focus more on what is logical and possible and kind of let the negative roll off a bit more.
So to answer the FAQ: I WILL UPDATE A FIC WHEN I CAN AND NO, ME GOING A MONTH OR TWO WITHOUT AN UPDATE DOES NOT MEAN THE FIC WILL NEVER GET UPDATED. Just wanted to emphasise that since folks tend to read over this stuff. At the very least, this will be eye catching, loland yet people will still not read it and ask.
My goal is to update once a week at the least, but we'll see.
Also, I've decided that I will not be doing NaNoWriMo. I've done more than enough writing to last me a while and I've got more than enough fics to fulfill the requirements unfinished. :p
